TongassDemocrats.com – What’s new, what’s different, what’s coming up!

Hello, friends –

You might notice that we’ve made some changes around here!

Thanks to the help of volunteers, the current website is cleaner and more functional, and we have a number of changes in the pipeline.

Some of these changes have already started to show up, and others are still in the development stage. Keep an eye on the “Coming Soon” section over there to the right for hints and teasers on new features, and check the site out every Monday for our regular new posts.

Some highlights:

  • We are experimenting with allowing comments to posts. As anyone who has been on the internet for more than 5 minutes knows, Comments sections can be difficult to manage, and we will see how it goes.
  • The calendar is up to date, and we plan to update it every Saturday with new items. If you have something you think would be a good addition, please email Nancy Courtney.

And, keep in mind: This is a volunteer-run site, and we plan to keep it that way. This gives us obvious financial advantages, but more importantly, it means that there is an intimate connection between our membership and the content – because the content comes directly from members.

I hope you enjoy today’s new post, “Stronger Together,” where I talk a bit about what has inspired me as a citizen to become involved in the daily work of democracy.

And, more than anything, I hope to see you out there as we all work toward protecting civil rights and building a future that is more peaceful, just, and filled with hope for all people.

Best,

Mary McRae
