I’ll be out of town a lot this month, so TongassDemocrats.com will be on a low-volume posting schedule for May. Here is what you can count on from us, plus some resources to help you stay up-to-date on what’s happening at the Legislature.
May Publication Schedule
Sunday: We’ll publish meeting reminders on Sundays, including any public testimony opportunities listed on the Legislature’s public testimony site at that time. Keep in mind that those testimony opportunities can shift around at the last minute, and hearings can go up or come down at the last minute.
Monday: Most Mondays we’ll have a Chair’s Corner from Nancy – but I have heard that we may have one or more guest posts in her blog this month.
Wednesday: Every Wednesday, we’ll have a feature article. For example, tomorrow you can read Bruce Botelho’s thoughts about local politics.
There may be an extra post from time to time, but Sunday, Monday, and Wednesday you can count on hearing from us.
Alaska News Resources
In addition to the link above to the public testimony opportunities, here are some links that you can bookmark to stay current on the Legislature:
- Rep. Justin Parish’s newsletters (sign up for the mailing list at that link) and Facebook.
- Rep. Ivy Spohnholz’ website and Facebook.
- Alaska House Majority Coalition’s website (which currently features an Alaska School Tax calculator in case you’re curious about what you’d pay) and Facebook.
- Sen. Bill Wielechowski’s Facebook.
- Alaska Senate Democrats’ newsroom and Facebook.
- Alaska Dispatch News: Alaska News, Politics.
I’m sure there are other great options, but these are the ones I know of.
Happy spring!
– Mary
